AUSTSWIM provides Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for aqua instructors who can provide evidence of successfully completing an aqua qualification. This process recognises qualifications and Statement of Attainment (SOA) from other Registered Training Organisations (RTO) as a pathway to accreditation and issue of an AUSTSWIM WETS Licence.

Eligible RPL applicants fall into one of the following:

A. Hold a SOA from an RTO (an example of the Units of Competency can be found at the     bottom of this page). A Certificate alone is NOT sufficient evidence.
B. Hold an International aqua qualification.

Yes I fit into one of the above categories, what’s the next step?

Simply provide AUSTSWIM with evidence of at least one of the following:
  • Copy of your Vocational Education and Training (VET) SOA and Certificate from the RTO. 
  • International Aqua Instructor certification demonstrating successful completion of an aqua qualification.

If you also hold one of the following please submit copies:

Current Water Safety qualification such as:
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher Licence
  • Bronze Medallion
  • Pool Lifeguard  
  • Surf Life Saving
