To our AUSTSWIM family,

As COVID-19 dominates our minds and our time, we appreciate that the coming months will be a challenging and unprecedented time for our industry and the community at large.

AUSTSWIM is the National Training and Accreditation body for the Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety. We have been operating for over 40 years, and we are committed to doing everything possible to continue to support the ongoing training, education and development needs of our AUSTSWIM Community.

Like many other organisations, we have been recently assessing the impact of COVID-19 on our organisation, and we have initiated our business continuity plan. These have been, in particular around the effect on our course delivery and servicing swim teachers in light of significant pool closures.

We have led conversations with industry, government and peak bodies behind the scenes on these and a host of other issues. While we are planning for recovery, our main priority is the well-being of our people, the swim teachers and the environment in which they work.

We understand that swim centres, teachers and their families are all currently hurting.

As part of the plan for recovery, AUSTSWIM has a range of support mechanisms to assist swim centres, teachers and candidates through this time. These measures extend the approach that we offered to teachers who were directly affected by the recent bushfire crisis.

Please see the  below detailed information that is for our AUSTSWIM family. We will continue to update you through our Pooling Resources in the days and weeks to come with any new information. Updates will also be posted through our social media and onto our website.

AUSTSWIM Offices and Staff,

While the Covid-19 virus is impacting our industry with a total closure of aquatic facilities in the country, and the ceasing of courses being delivered, we want to assure our members and partners that we are open for business and here to support you.
