According to WHO (World Health Organisation), an estimated 235,600 people died from drowning globally in 2019. That is almost 650 every day, or 26 every hour; a silent epidemic of preventable deaths.
Monday the 25th of July was World Drowning Prevention Day, and this year’s theme was to "do one thing” that advances efforts to prevent drowning. AUSTSWIM is committed to raising awareness around drowning prevention through the teaching of vital swimming and water safety skills, and we aim to recruit and educate as many new teachers in the sector as we can.
To assist in this aim, this August, AUSTSWIM is offering selected AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety courses across the country for just $299.
