AUSTSWIM is proud to support the growth of aquatic education across the Pacific, with new funding helping create opportunities for women in Fiji to develop their skills and leadership in the industry.
Through Commonwealth Games Australia’s Empowering Women Initiative, the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee will deliver the program Developing Fiji’s Next Generation of Aquatic Leaders. The initiative will enable female swimming teachers and coaches in Fiji to gain the Australian-recognised AUSTSWIM certificate, helping to strengthen the country’s aquatic workforce while creating more visible female role models in the sector.
The program will take place across late April and early May 2026, with AUSTSWIM training delivered over an intensive multi-day schedule in both Suva and Nadi, the trip is designed to maximise participation and learning opportunities.
By supporting women to gain internationally recognised qualifications, the initiative aims to strengthen aquatic education in Fiji while helping more communities access high-quality swim teaching and water safety education.
AUSTSWIM is excited to see this initiative help grow female leadership in aquatics and contribute to safer water environments across Fiji and the wider Pacific.
