AUSTSWIM is proud to share that our partnership with Her Swim School and Swim Brothers, Surf Life Saving NSW and Sutherland Shire Council has been named a finalist for Outstanding Partnership at this year’s @ZEST Awards, hosted by @Western Sydney Community Forum.
This recognition acknowledges a powerful shared commitment to building swim teacher capacity, leadership pathways and employment opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse communities, particularly women.
AUSTSWIM CEO Lisa Kinross said the finalist recognition reflected the strength and importance of practical partnerships that open doors into the aquatic industry.
“Quality swimming teachers save lives, and this partnership is helping more people from diverse communities see a future for themselves in our sector,” Lisa said.
“By working together, we are supporting culturally safe pathways into training, mentoring and paid employment, while also strengthening water safety outcomes for the communities that need it most.”
Through this supported workforce pathway, more than 30 participants have progressed from subsidised learn-to-swim programs with Swim Brothers and Her Swim School, through to AUSTSWIM qualification support, practical mentoring and industry experience.
The result is something we are all incredibly proud of, with 97 per cent of participants progressing into paid employment in the aquatic industry.
Congratulations to everyone involved. We look forward to celebrating this important partnership and its impact at the ZEST Awards.
