AUSTSWIM is delighted to welcome Lisa Kinross as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Lisa commenced on Monday 4 May 2026 bringing extensive executive leadership experience across member-based organisations, education, workforce development, water, infrastructure, governance and stakeholder engagement.
Her appointment marks an important next step for AUSTSWIM in strengthening its national leadership, supporting Australia’s swim teacher workforce and builds on its long-standing contribution to swimming and water safety education.
Lisa joins the organisation from the Civil Contractors Federation Victoria, where she served as CEO. She has also held senior leadership roles with Chisholm Institute’s National Water & Safety Centre and Melbourne Water, bringing vast experience in education, industry and government collaboration.
AUSTSWIM Board Chair Melinda Crole said Lisa’s experience and values made her well placed to lead AUSTSWIM into its next chapter.
“Her background in both vocational education and water-related industries gives her a valuable understanding of the environment in which AUSTSWIM operates and the important role we play in supporting quality swimming and water safety education.
“Lisa’s appointment strengthens AUSTSWIM’s leadership as we continue to work with swim schools, teachers, training partners, industry bodies and government to advance our mission to deliver aquatic education and training.”
Lisa said she was looking forward to working closely with the AUSTSWIM Board, staff, teachers, swim schools, members and partners to continue strengthening the quality, accessibility and reach of swimming and water safety education across Australia.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn to swim and enjoy the water safely. AUSTSWIM plays a critical role not only in preventing harm, but in empowering Australians of all ages and backgrounds to experience the confidence, connection and joy that comes from being in, on and around the water.”
Lisa’s appointment comes as AUSTSWIM continues to focus on strengthening the swim teacher workforce, supporting swim schools and industry partners, and contributing to drowning prevention through high-quality swimming and water safety education.
The Board would also like to acknowledge the leadership and contribution of outgoing CEO Brad Maunsell, who supported AUSTSWIM through an important period of operational focus and sector engagement, and who remains with the organisation.
