Licence Transfers

Are you looking to transfer an existing licence to AUSTSWIM? This page explains when a licence transfer is required, what is involved, and how to apply.

What is a licence transfer?

A licence transfer allows your qualifications, experience and professional standing to be formally recognised within the AUSTSWIM licensing framework. This helps ensure consistent professional standards across Australia and supports safe, high-quality aquatic education.

What is required for a licence transfer?

  • A Statement of Attainment (SoA) of your current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (TSW) qualification and your TSW licence
  • Evidence of recent teaching experience - 20 hours
  • Evidence of professional development - 10 hours
  • Current CPR and WWCC
  • On acceptance - completion of the AUSTSWIM Licence Learning module

Each application is assessed individually to ensure fairness, consistency and alignment with AUSTSWIM standards.
