I NEED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
10 hours of Professional Development (PD) is required to renew your AUSTSWIM licence. PD refers to any formal or informal training you have undertaken that develops your knowledge and skills as a swimming and water safety teacher. This may include industry PD such as conferences or events, licence upskilling including extension courses or formal accreditations. It may also include online learning or day-to-day professional development through your role as a current swimming and water safety teacher within a swim school or aquatic facility.
AUSTSWIM's online professional development modules are designed to keep you connected to current opportunities within the industry in order to further develop your career. Exclusive offers apply to current AUSTSWIM licence holders, however, our PD opportunities are open to all swimming and water safety teachers in the industry.
Introducing Two New AUSTSWIM Professional Development Courses
1) Managing Learn to Swim Classes with Neurodivergent Students
Gain valuable skills to enhance your teaching with our Managing Learn to Swim Classes with Neurodivergent Students PD. This course is designed to help swim teachers understand, navigate and adapt teaching strategies when teaching swimming to neurodiverse students. Sheryl Everett, the presenter will give you knowledge, skills and understanding in the area of neurodiversity, enabling you to deliver more effective and inclusive lessons.
Upon completion, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion, which can be used as evidence for 3 hours of PD when renewing your AUSTSWIM Licence.
