As Australia’s most trusted swim teacher training organisation, AUSTSWIM partners with swim school owners and operators to support what matters most which is great teachers, confident swimmers and sustainable swim schools.
The Swim School Network is not an audit or accreditation program. It is a practical, values-aligned network designed to support swim schools at every stage of growth. Membership is annual, no GST applies, and training and licensing discounts are available once membership is active.

Swim School Network FAQs
The AUSTSWIM Swim School Network is a national network that supports swim schools committed to quality teaching, strong workforce development and safe aquatic learning environments.
Led by AUSTSWIM, the Network provides swim schools with access to training and licensing discounts, practical resources, visibility through the Swim School Finder and connection to the nation’s most trusted swim teaching training organisation.
The Network is not an accreditation or audit program.
To join the AUSTSWIM Swim School Network, swim schools must:
- Deliver learn-to-swim programs
- Share a commitment to quality teaching and positive learner experiences
- Support the use of qualified swim teachers
- Align with AUSTSWIM values, including safeguarding and professionalism
There is no formal audit or inspection process as part of Network membership.
While it is not mandatory for every teacher to hold an AUSTSWIM Licence, AUSTSWIM strongly encourages swim schools to:
- Employ AUSTSWIM-qualified teachers where possible
- Support teachers to obtain and maintain their AUSTSWIM Licence
- Promote licensing as a marker of professionalism and quality
This supports workforce capability and builds confidence for parents.
Annual membership fees are:
- $449 per year for swim schools with fewer than 1,000 learn-to-swim students
- $649 per year for swim schools with more than 1,000 learn-to-swim students
No GST applies to Swim School Network membership.
Once your swim school has joined the Network and payment has been processed, eligible discounts apply:
- To new course enrolments made after membership activation
- To eligible licence renewals and licence transfers processed during your membership period
Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively to enrolments or licences processed before joining.
All Swim School Network members receive access to a range of benefits, including:
- A free Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (TSW) course, or two extension courses, or 50% off AQUA enrolment
- 10% off TSW enrolments delivered by your swim school at your venue*
- 10% off licence transfers
- 5% off licence renewals
*Discounts are subject to conditions and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.
Once your membership has been confirmed:
- Your digital Swim School Network badge will be issued shortly after joining
- Window decals will be dispatched following confirmation of your membership details
These assets can be used to promote your alignment with AUSTSWIM across your website, venue and marketing materials.
Your swim school will be added to the Australian Swim School Network Finder once:
- Membership has been confirmed
- Required listing details have been provided
The Finder helps parents locate swim schools aligned with AUSTSWIM’s commitment to quality teaching and safe aquatic education, and helps AUSTSWIM teachers find potential employers who share their commitment to water safety.
Membership is paid annually, at the time of joining or renewal.
Payment details and renewal timing will be communicated by the AUSTSWIM team to ensure your membership remains current and uninterrupted.
Swim School Network membership is valid for 12 months from the date of payment, and will be confirmed before payment is made.
Renewal reminders are provided ahead of expiry to support continuity of benefits and listing.

- Aligning swim schools with nationally recognised training pathways
- Supporting ongoing professional development
- Reducing training and licensing costs
- Reinforcing teaching as a valued professional role
While membership is not a requirement for the AUSTSWIM Awards, alignment with AUSTSWIM values, quality teaching and workforce development can support readiness for future award recognition.
