Skills Assure
Skills Assure – “Career Boost" is a Queensland Government initiative that provides subsidised training to help eligible Queenslanders gain nationally recognised qualifications aligned to workforce needs.
Program Overview
The Skills Assure funded pathway supports eligible participants to complete the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (TSW) qualification through government-subsidised training.
Delivered by AUSTSWIM, this funded pathway enables participants to complete swim teacher training at a reduced cost while maintaining nationally recognised standards for swimming and water safety education. The program supports the growth of Queensland’s aquatic and community recreation workforce by reducing financial barriers to entry. Funding is subject to eligibility requirements, co-contribution rules and program availability.
Qualification Outcome
Participants who successfully complete all course and assessment requirements will be eligible to receive:
-
The AUSTSWIM Teacher Licence (valid for three years)
-
A Statement of Attainment for nationally recognised units of competency from the Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package
This qualification supports employment opportunities across swim schools, aquatic centres and community recreation facilities throughout Queensland.
