What is the Higher Level Skills Program?

The Higher Level Skills Program provides a government subsidy to support eligible individuals to complete Certificate IV level and above qualifications or priority skill sets. The aim is to assist people to gain the higher level skills required to secure employment, career advancement or transition to university in priority industries.
 
AUSTSWIM is an approved Queensland Government Skills Assured Supplier to deliver publicly funded training and assessment.

Funding is available for the Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety skill set (SISSS00132) through the Queensland Government's Higher Level Skills Program.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the Higher Level Skills Program a participant must:
  • permanently reside in Queensland.

  • be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent resident, temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand Citizen.

  • be aged 16 years or over, and no longer at school.

  • not hold a certificate IV or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school.

  • not be enrolled in another qualification, not including foundation skills training. 

How much will it cost?

  • Concessional Candidate: $112.50 Total Co-contribution Fee / $22.50 per Unit Co-contribution Fee 9 (5 units)

  • Non-Concessional Candidate: $162.50 Total Co-contribution Fee / $32.50 per Unit Co-contribution Fee (5 units)

How do I enrol?

Complete and return the enrolment form and supporting information.  Once eligibility has been confirmed you will receive a confirmation email with further details.
