AUSTSWIM Awards of Excellence 2023

Do you want to recognise an outstanding teacher, swim school, presenter, program or organisation in your state or territory?

You can celebrate their achievements by nominating them for an AUSTSWIM Award!

What started as three national award categories in 2004 has now grown to over 15, covering the AUSTSWIM family on a state, national and international level. The Awards acknowledge individuals, swim centres and organisations for their contribution to aquatic education and water safety through leadership, innovation, and community spirit – helping students and their community to be safer in, on and around water.

This year, the nomination process has never been easier. It is an opportunity to reflect on an individual or organisation’s achievements and praise those who go above and beyond for students and their community every day.

Nominating for an AUSTSWIM Award provides a real boost for individuals and organisations. Previous award nominators report an increase in staff morale, better staff retention and recruitment, increased participation and revenue and stronger community engagement and support. Previous recipients have benefited from obtaining professional learning in areas of their choice, unique career opportunities and accelerated career progression, all because of their award receipt.

  • Nominees will be approved and then shortlisted to a finalists list.
  • Finalists will then be contacted via email to approve and further support their application.
  • Once the finalist has approved and supported their nomination, the nominee will proceed to the judging round. Finalists are reviewed by judging panels for each award category.
  • Recipients for each category will be announced in May.
