Teach Water Familiarisation & Water Safety Skills

Course Overview
 
This course covers the prerequisite units of competency required to enrol in the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics course and the Teacher of Aquatics, Access and Inclusion course. 
 
UNITS OF COMPETENCY:
  1. SISCAQU024 – Teach water familiarisation, buoyancy, and mobility skills
  2. SISCAQU025 – Teach water safety and survival skills
COURSE COMPLETION:
Candidates will receive a Statement of Attainment for the above units of competency on completion of the course.  
 
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
 
✅ Eligible: 
Swimming and water safety teachers who do NOT have a Statement of Attainment listing the two units of competency above (SISCAQU024, SISCAQU025). 

❌ Not Eligible:
Teachers who already have a Statement of Attainment (SoA) listing SISCAQU024 and SISCAQU025, are NOT eligible for this course.
 
 
PREREQUISITE:
Teachers MUST supply evidence of their current swimming and water safety accreditation/licence/SoA.

  2. TWFWSS is an online course with eLearning modules and assessment tasks.
  3. Teachers must download the course Candidate Handbook to be completed in the industry. 
  4. Teachers have 12 months from enrolment to complete all course requirements.
