Building the Competitive Pathway: AUSTSWIM TCSC Course Delivered in Vietnam

On 9 May, AUSTSWIM delivered the Towards Strokes and Coaching (TCSC) course to nine teachers from Swim Vietnam Charity, marking another
important milestone in the organisation's ongoing growth and development. We are pleased to report that all nine participants successfully completed the
course requirements within one month, achieving a 100% completion rate.
Trainer Alina Graham said "Having visited Swim Vietnam previously, the progress made across the organisation has been remarkable. It was evident that both teachers and trainers had significantly developed their knowledge, confidence, and capabilities. The organisation has successfully established strong foundations in learn-to-swim and water safety education and is now well positioned to support swimmers beyond these foundational stages. The timing of the TCSC course was ideal, providing the next step in Swim Vietnam's development journey."
The course equips teachers with the skills and knowledge required to coach swimmers as they progress into more advanced skill development and competitive swimming pathways. This expanded capability enables Swim Vietnam to offer new opportunities for swimmers who are ready to take the next step in their aquatic journey.
While the achievements to date are encouraging, the need for water safety education in Vietnam remains significant. Current statistics indicate that between six and eight children drown every day, underscoring the critical importance of continued investment in swimming education, water safety programs, and teacher development.
Swim Vietnam is uniquely positioned to play a leading role in addressing this challenge. By strengthening its teaching workforce and expanding opportunities for swimmer progression, the organisation is helping to build safer communities while creating pathways for young people to develop their skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.
Congratulations to all nine participants on their successful completion of the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Swimming and Skills course. Their commitment to professional development will have a lasting impact on the swimmers and communities they serve.
