Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
Course Overview
The AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics – Access and Inclusion course is designed to provide AUSTSWIM Teachers with the knowledge required to empower diverse groups of people to feel safer in, on and around water. Upon completion of this course, AUSTSWIM Teachers will be able to deliver programs and services that meet the needs of a diverse range of people who use the aquatic environment.
Originally known as AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics for People with a Disability, this course has been updated and extended to reflect the growing size and diversity of today’s communities.
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics – Access and Inclusion adopts an educational approach to training and allows AUSTSWIM Teachers of Swimming and Water Safety to provide aquatics access and inclusion to all people regardless of:
This course is aimed at current licence holders of the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (TSW) accreditation. It is ideal for those looking to redesign diversity and who desire to teach and improve water safety for the whole community.
Units of competency:
The Teacher of Aquatics – Access and Inclusion Teacher course contains units of competency that are nationally recognised from the Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training package. Upon successful completion of all assessment requirements, candidates will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the following units:
- SISCAQU028 - Assist participants with disability during aquatic activities
Please be advised that completion of TSW - Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety is a prerequisite for enrolling in any of our extension courses.
