Course Overview
The AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes course is developed to help AUSTSWIM Teachers enter the workforce as the next generation of competitive coaches. The course aims to ensure that candidates are competent to transition between the teaching and coaching of swimming.
The AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes course is extremely valuable for the Beginner Coach, as it provides a basis to enable all swimmers to achieve good swimming technique. This course is the link between AUSTSWIM and Swimming Australia, allowing the development of the swimmer to occur in a seamless and progressive manner while meeting the needs of the industry.
To partake in this specialist course, candidates must first hold a current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Licence (TSW). Secondly, the candidate should have the desire to teach children to progress in the world of swimming by becoming the vital link in the swimming coaching chain.
This course will develop your teaching skills in swimming and water safety with an aim of helping children to progress in the world of swimming. This course allows candidates to progress from the AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes award towards Swimming Australia’s Development Coach award.
This course helps teachers to develop their knowledge and expertise in each of the essential disciplines of competitive swimming. AUSTSWIM and Swimming Australia have partnered to make the transition from teaching swimming and water safety to coaching competitive swimming easier.
The AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes course contains NO units of competency.
Please be advised that completion of TSW - Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety is a prerequisite for enrolling in any of our extension courses.
